What is Safe Families Canada?
Safe Families Canada is a movement fueled by compassion to keep children safe and families together. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, we temporarily host children and provide a network of support to families in crisis while they get back on their feet.
Through partnering with local churches we connect isolated families going through crisis with community. Trained and vetted volunteers host vulnerable children in their home, provide friendship, mentorship and create an extended family-like support system. Their goal is to surround a family in crisis with love and care through practical and significant ways. We open our hearts, our arms, and our homes.
Currently there are 16 operating chapters throughout Canada. In Spring 2024, the Safe Families Canada Battlefords (SFCB) chapter was formed and became the first chapter in SK! At present, the Battlefords chapter is recruiting and training volunteers to do the work of supporting families. Once volunteers are trained, SFCB will be accepting referrals from the community.
Everything's better when we're together.

FUNDRAISING FAQs
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, a tax receipt will be issued by Safe Families Canada
at the end of the year for donations of $20 or more.
Receipts go to the individual donor (not the team collecting the money)
What about a business who supports my team? Can they get a receipt?
This depends. A few extra details are needed to answer this question.
Please contact battlefords@safefamilies.ca or text 306-280-8906 if you have
a business who wants to donate to your team and needs a receipt!
If using Canada Helps accounts, please contact us before
directing any business to donate online.
Can I offer people an incentive to give? Such as a gift or entry into a draw?
No. Unfortunately CRA does not allow donations that will receive a tax receipt
to also receive an incentive. Please do not provide donors
any incentive with a $ value or chance to win something.
Do I need to use all three ways to raise money?
Nope. Pick whatever way you want to raise money!
When/where do I bring the money I've collected?
All money and donation tracking forms need to be brought to RACE DAY!
